When you think birthday party goals, Miranda’s 40th bash at the Octagon Barn in San Luis Obispo deserves its own spotlight — or should we say disco ball?

This Central Coast celebration was unapologetically bold, beautifully pink, and brimming with custom floral moments that turned a milestone birthday into a serious vibe. From the floral design to the modern lounge setups, this event was proof that color, creativity, and a little shimmer go a long way.

Pink on Pink (on Pink): The Floral Vision

For Miranda’s florals, we stepped away from soft neutrals and went all in with vibrant hot pinks, coral tones, blush roses, and citrusy pops of orange. Every arrangement was tucked into mirrored disco ball vases (yes, disco ball vases), giving the entire space a fun, light-reflecting glow that danced across the room.

We mixed textural blooms like spray roses, carnations, ranunculus, lisianthus, and baby’s breath, and layered in palm fronds, wispy greenery, and unexpected shape to keep things playful and elevated. The result? A look that was part retro glam, part garden chic — and fully fabulous.

San Luis Obispo Event Design With Personality

The design came to life inside the iconic Octagon Barn, one of the most unique event venues on the Central Coast. It’s a favorite among wedding florists and event stylists in SLO, and for good reason. The white walls and natural wood beams gave us the perfect blank slate to bring in vibrant pink draping, oversized signage, lounge installations, and (of course) florals that demanded attention.

We styled a long dinner table dressed in blush linen and rimmed chargers, with black bistro chairs for contrast. Above the table, rattan pendants and disco balls gave the space a funky, celebratory edge — and yes, they sparkled with every camera flash.

A Photo-Worthy Moment at Every Turn

We love when an event is designed for interaction, and this one delivered. Guests were invited to “Hit me with your best shot” — grabbing disposable cameras off a custom wall install to capture the night from their own perspective. Every station was styled with floral details, including luxe arrangements on pedestals, bar backs, and even the sign-in station.

Needless to say, Central Coast floral design isn’t just for weddings — and this party proved just how impactful a great floral plan can be for any event.
